Starting War Robots is exciting, but it’s easy to make costly errors. I want to help new players avoid the mistakes I made so you can progress faster and stop wasting money along the way!
Don’t Try to Max Out All Five Hangars
When I started, my goal was to fill out all five hangars with strong robots. I spent resources trying to build multiple hangars instead of focusing on mastering a single robot. As a result, none of my robots reached their full potential—and I still don’t own an MK3 robot!
Tip: Focus on one core robot that fits your playstyle, then slowly add others as you learn the game. You’ll grow stronger and save resources.
Spending Traps: Learn From My Mistakes
Each time I lost a game, it felt like the answer was to buy something to fix it immediately. A few $5-$10 purchases here and there quickly added up, and before I knew it, I’d spent far more than I intended—with little true progression.
Tip: Track your spending each month. Question every purchase—don’t buy loot boxes, rush upgrades, or overpriced meta items just because you lost a game.
What You Should Spend On
- Focus on upgrades that give lasting value—like pilot skills or drone synergy
- Invest in resources that help your favorite robot get stronger
What to Avoid
- Don’t get trapped by ‘meta’ hype; spend wisely and research before spending
- Avoid loot boxes and impulse purchases after losses
How to Keep War Robots Spending From Hurting Your Personal Finances
Don’t let small spending slip by unnoticed—every $5 or $10 really can add up to hundreds or thousands over time. Set a monthly gaming budget. Avoid the cycle of playing, losing, and buying impulsively.
Other Mistakes New Players Make
- Not learning map tactics and robot specializations
- Ignoring pilot skills and drone pairings
- Neglecting clan teamwork and progress
Final Tip: Master one robot, review your spending regularly, and never buy upgrades just because you lost a match. Learn from my mistakes and your hangar will be stronger for it.
